As an Australian-owned independent family business, we are dedicated in providing compassionate and attentive support to our clients throughout the entire funeral planning process. Our goal is to alleviate as much stress and burden as possible, so our clients can focus on remembering and honouring their loved ones.

Integrity – As the owner and CEO of Black Tulip Funerals, I, Scott Harris, bring over 25 years of industry experience and a deep commitment to integrity. My extensive background in managing over 6,000 funerals has taught me the importance of honesty, transparency, and ethical behaviour in serving families during their most vulnerable times. Transparency – I believe in fostering open and honest communication with the families I serve. With a positive and empathetic attitude, I provide clear and direct guidance, setting realistic expectations and helping families navigate the complexities of funeral planning. My goal is to build trust and ensure that every family feels supported and cared for throughout the process. Quality – With a unique blend of industry expertise and technical knowledge, I am dedicated to delivering exceptional service to every family. My extensive experience in funeral management, combined with my background in Information Technology and Logistics, enables me to provide personalized and efficient solutions that meet the unique needs of each family. Compassion – As a caring and compassionate individual, I am passionate about helping families during their time of need. I understand that every family is unique, and I am committed to providing a personalized and empathetic approach to funeral planning. My goal is to not only provide a dignified and respectful farewell but also to support families in their grief and help them find a sense of peace and closure.
Sara Phiromnak

(Development Manager, Personal Assistant to CEO)

The quiet achiever of the team with a warm approach and that friendly Thai smile, Sara oversees the daily business operations offering more than 10 years’ experience as a General Manager. Sara shows extreme reliability and is a very cooperative team member. Sara also brings to BLACK TULIP FUNERALS a Bachelor of Business Administration in Operations Management. Native Thai spoken, Sara also is a public speaker and former promotional model for several international brands & products.

Ariel Alonsagay

(Design Team Co-Ordinator)

With a background in Industrial Electronics Technology, AutoCAD, Photogrammetric Correction and Graphic Arts, Ariel has been placed in charge of the design team. Ariel assigns the workload based on the urgency of tasks required with the can-do attitude of late nights, weekends etc. Having worked closely with Scott on the BLACK TULIP FUNERALS branding and roll out, Ariel understands the importance of getting things done then and now.

Erica Vivero

(Senior Social Media Specialist)

The baby of the team, softly spoken Erica is a social media enthusiast with a keen eye for detail. With a background in Marketing and Business Management, she’s the driving force behind our team’s social media presence and keeps the design team on their toes. As our appointed Social Media Specialist, Erica takes the reins of digital marketing, ensuring every post, blog, campaign, and strategy is executed with precision. Her passion for creating meaningful connections through social media is evident in her work.

David Harrison

(Pastoral Care & Master of Ceremonies)

With a deep commitment to serving others, David Harrison has dedicated his career to providing compassionate and meaningful support to grieving families. As a chaplain with extensive experience in prisons, hospitals, and aged care facilities, David has developed a unique ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and faith traditions. Holding a degree in theology, David is well-equipped to provide a prayerful Christian service that honors the deceased and brings comfort to those who are mourning. However, he is also skilled at creating inclusive and reverent funeral services that cater to those who prefer a less religious approach. David’s pastoral sensitivity and approachable nature have earned him a reputation for delivering personalized and heartfelt eulogies that celebrate the life and legacy of the deceased. Through his work, David has consistently received praise for his ability to provide a sense of peace and closure to grieving families. His dedication to serving others with empathy and compassion has made him a respected and beloved figure in the community. Her two-year tenure as an SEO writer honed her skills in creating engaging, search-engine-friendly content. Committed to continuous growth, Gelyn has pursued specialised training as an SEO Specialist, enhancing her ability to boost online visibility and drive organic traffic. Her expertise extends to front-end WordPress design, allowing her to create visually appealing and user-friendly websites. Erica Vivero

(Senior Social Media Specialist)

Patrick Harrison is a highly skilled pianist with nearly two decades of experience. He holds a Diploma of Music Performance and a Bachelor of Music Performance, specialising in Classical, Jazz, Blues, and Contemporary piano. Since completing his studies, Patrick has showcased his talent at a wide range of events, including weddings, funerals, private functions, corporate events, bars, festivals, and on cruise ships. His versatility extends to corporate cover gigs as well as original projects that explore genres such as RnB, Blues, Lo-fi, Rock, and Jazz Fusion. These projects have involved writing sessions, studio recordings, and live performances across the state. Patrick’s diverse musical background and extensive performance experience make him a valuable addition to our team and for families looking for that extra touch.

Emma Hollingsworth is the friendly and efficient digital face of BLACK TULIP FUNERALS, seamlessly blending modern technology with compassionate support. As our Digital Receptionist and Family Adviser, Emma is available around the clock to assist families during their most challenging times.
